    UGC has released a list of fake educational institutions operating in the country. There are eight universities in Uttar Pradesh, 7 in Delhi, 2 in Odisha and Bengal, 1 in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry.

 Between the Intermediate and Graduation results, it is necessary and difficult task for the students to choose the right educational institution. Fake educational institutions are increasing their difficulty even more. UGC has released a list of fake educational institutions operating in various states. While two have been found guilty of violating the rules. This information was given by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during a question in the Lok Sabha. He said that of the 24 institutions declared as fake by the UGC.

Apart from this, the Indian Council of Education in Lucknow and the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) at Qutub Enclave in New Delhi have been found to be in violation of the UGC Act, 1956.

Speaking on the steps taking by the UGC against these universities, Pradhan said public notices are issued about the list of fake universities/institutes in national Hindi and English newspapers.

It is very important for the students to look up on the universities and choose wisely.
