 Delhi, the capital of India, has a rich history. The city is dotted with spellbinding mosques, forts, and monuments left over from the Mughal rulers that once occupied the city.

Delhi attractions are rich in historical sites and gardens. Many places in Delhi are known for this beauty-

1:Red Fort- Delhi's most famous monument, the Red Fort, stands not only as a powerful reminder of the Mughal era India but also a symbol of India’s a struggle for freedom. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan when he decided to shift his capital Delhi from Agra in 1638.

2:Jama Masjid- Jama Masjid is another marvellous Treasure of Delhi, and it’s one of the largest mosques in India. The Mosque took 12 years to build and was completed in 1656. It was also built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

3:Humayun's Tomb- Humayun's The tomb was built in the 1560s with the patronage of Humayun's son, the Great emperor Akbar. It was the first of this type of Mughal architecture to be built in India. The tomb is part of a greater complex set among beautiful gardens.


4: Qutub Minar- Qutub Minar, one of the tallest brick minarets in the world, is an incredible example of early Indo-Islamic architecture. It was built by Qutub-ud-din- Aibak in 1200AD. It was covered with intricate coverings and verses from the holy Quran.


5:India Gate- The towering archway of India Gate at the center of New Delhi is a war memorial, built-in memory of the Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British army in world war I. India Gate was earlier named All India war Memorial. It was designed by the famous architect Edwin lut yens.


6:Lotus Temple: Lotus Temple is also called the Bahai Temple, as it’s shaped like a lotus flower. It’s particularly pretty at night, when it’s attractively lit up. It was designed by Iranian Architect Fariborz sahba. The temple is made out of concrete covered in white marble and it is common to several religions including Hinduism and Buddhism.

Many places in Delhi like Smriti and Raj Ghat, Lodhi Gardens, swami Narayan Akshardham, Chandni Chowk, etc these are also very attractive and magnificent.
