Injustice or what: a man and a woman set themselves on fire outside the supreme court

   On 14th September, A non-bailable warrant was issued by the supreme court against a woman who was accusing MP of Bahujan Samaj Party Atul Rai of allegedly raping her. On that day morning, the woman and her bystander set themselves on fire outside the court, the two slumped on the ground and both endured from severe burn injuries and are undergoing treatment. 


Before immolating themselves, they recorded a live video on facebook where the woman is telling that, just because she lodged a rape case on MP Atul Rai, she got summoned by the judge of the Supreme Court, they have issued a non bailable warrant against her. She also said that, Uttar Pradesh police bad also filed cases and warrants against us and this is what Uttar Pradesh's judiciary system is said the witness. 


The injured woman bails from Uttar Pradesh's ghazipur, MP Atul Rai being caught in connection with this case. While, his brother Pawan Kumar lodged a grievance in varanasi against the woman in november last year allegedly forging documents about her date of birth.


He told the police that the woman produced a mark sheet while getting an FIR registered in which her date of birth was June 10. Pawan also asserted that in 2015, when the woman was allegedly molested by a student leader, she gave papers to the police where her date was mentioned March 10.


After filing a complaint, a case was registered against her under the sections of cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy by a local court in varanasi. When the police gave their statement, they said the woman remained untraceable despite several radius.


DCP of new delhi Deepak yadav said, the duo set themselves on fire pouring the kerosene oil after recording. The two were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohiya hospital in a police van. Police said the two are critical, the woman sustained 85% and the witness 65% of burn injuries. They also said, we've identified them but don't know how they're related. Both are unfit for statement.


Uttar Pradesh ADG, Prashant Kumar said, "A sub inspector and deputy SP were suspended for misconduct in the case earlier. we are waiting for a report from the delhi police or will definitely take appropriate action based on the video. Whereas MP Atul Raiis in Jail since 2019.
