Youth culture can pertain to interests, styles, behaviours, music, beliefs, vocabulary, clothes, sports and dating. The concept behind youth culture is that adolescents are a subculture with norms, mores, behaviours, and values that differ from the main culture of older generations within society.
It's always worth remembering that media – good and bad – is just one of several influences on teenage behaviour and attitudes. Other influences include family, friends and peers, cultural background and more. Often these influences can be more powerful than media influence.
Youth culture refers to the societal norms of children, adolescents, and young adults. Specifically, it comprises the processes and symbolic systems that are shared by the youth demographic and are distinct from those of adults in the community.
Society plays a huge role in molding teens' behavior, character and attitude. It determines how they see other people, their general outlook, and their ethics. You as parents can influence all these things as well, but the things that will stick with the kids for long haul are learned from the society.
