Afghan rulers of India




A number of invaders invaded the northern regions of India between 10th century to the mid-18th century such as Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Khalijis, Suris, and Durranis from Afghanistan. Many Afghans started to enter India due to political instability in their regions.

Some prominent Afghan rulers who ruled India are deliberated below:

Bahlul Lodi was the founder of the first Afghan rule. In 1451 in the wake of crushing Sayyid ruler Alauddin Alam Shah Sayyid, he established the Lodi administration. Sikandar Lodi, Ibrahim Lodi were different leaders of this administration. 

Sikandar Lodi (passed on 21 November 1517), conceived Nizam Khan, was an Afghan Sultan of the Delhi Sultanate somewhere in the range of 1489 and 1517. He turned into the following leader of the Lodi line after the passing of his father Bahlul Lodi in July 1489. The second and best leader of the Lodi tradition of the Delhi sultanate, he was additionally a writer of the Persian language and arranged a diwan of 9000 refrains.

Sher Shah Suri, conceived Farid Khan, was the author of the Suri Empire in India, with its capital in Sasaram in current Bihar. He presented the money in rupees. After his inadvertent demise in 1545, his child Islam Shah turned into his replacement from 1540 to 1557.
