Importance of television in early 90s .


 Television is a basis of cultural diversity, freedom of expression, and democracy. It fosters education, encourages individuals to venture outside their living rooms, and piques their interest. It is a fantastic representative of the entertainment sector since it not only helps uncover new artists and music, but it also ignites and revitalises our musical history and fosters the merging of many artistic genres.

Television also promotes kindness and compassion, which serves as the foundation for many humanitarian organisations' fundraising activities. Broadcasts of sporting events motivate viewers to push themselves beyond personal boundaries and unite billions of people around moral principles. Television gives homes all around the world access to dreams and wonders by providing high-quality entertainment. Television is an essential component of contemporary culture. Since the invention of music videos, we now rely on television for music as well as for entertainment, news, education, culture, sports, and weather.

Even though cable subscriptions and channel count increased in the 1990s, network TV experienced a comeback.

In the early 90s, there were not many TV channels, but the human population was fond of what would come next. In 

India under Prime Minister Narasimha Rao, the central government (Congress Govt) initiated several economic and social reforms. The government approved limited operations in India for commercial and foreign broadcasters under the new policies. All ensuing federal administrations have steadily pursued this strategy. Satellite transmissions were first used by international channels like CNN and STAR TV as well as domestic private stations like Zee TV, ETV, Sun TV, and Asianet. In India, television coverage increased from 41 sets and one channel in 1962 to more than 70 million homes and more than 100 channels by 1995, serving a watching audience of more than 400 million people. 

 The people of India used television as a source of only entertainment after Radio. They updated themselves with the happening in the world.

In many ways, television aids in disseminating knowledge and information in the society of people le in the early 90s. Many harmful social practices, including child marriage and the dowry system, are ending. People learn that all of these actions are prohibited through the media. Through education, beneficial concepts are disseminated in society.
