The causes of mass consumption

What do you mean by mass consumption?

Mass consumption is defined to be the ability to buy or use goods by a large number of people.

It means people have sufficient resources like money to make  purchases of goods or for use any kind of services.

Few Causes of mass consumption:

 1. As economy is growing,  industrialisation is being becoming very normal ,people are having more employment  and hence they are earning well to buy goods for their use. This is leading to mass consumption.

2.  In today's world advertisement plays a crucial role every new and old products. They  are advertised to attract more people and these people buy the advertised goods even if they really don't need them. Hence this  contributes to mass consumption.

3. When people are influenced by political leaders ,celebrities, role models, they try to live a life as the people from whom they have been influenced  and hence they start buying stuffs which are really not appreciated or are in need this also contributes to mass consumption.

What impact it creates on our environment?

Mass consumption leads to degradation of our natural resources from which these items are made. It also leads to pollution .

Conclusion

In any way mass consumption is not appreciated to be followed as it leads to pollution and degradation of  resources .

We as responsible citizen should know that which things are to be bought (which are important) and which can be neglected(not important).we should follow the three R's Reduce ,Reuse and Recycle.
