Energy Atmanirbharta by 2040

The word atmanirbharta denotes independence. Many people interpret it to mean independence.

Making the nation and its people autonomous and self-sufficient is the goal.

Aatma Nirbhar Bharat is supported by five pillars: the economy, infrastructure, system, vibrant demography, and demand.

The Prime Minister has called for “Energy Atmanirbharta” by 2040

The actions India can take to accomplish "Energy Atmanirbharta" by 2040 are :

First, India needs to be clear about what Atmanirbharta is. It refers to dependence rather than sufficiency.

Being self-sufficient in terms of energy is impractical and unprofitable, so it shouldn't be our goal.

Second, since the transition to a green energy system is a drawn-out, expensive, and time-consuming process, we should give priority to access to fossil fuels. There is a minimal likelihood of discovering significant, additional domestic hydrocarbon resources, and even if India is able to improve domestic exploration, it might be challenging to produce them under profitable conditions. Therefore, a key component of our strategy must be the emphasis on safe and cheap access to oil and gas.

Third, provide access to the components of green energy top priority. We have high goals for renewable energy. The majority of the minerals and components (copper, cobalt, lithium, semiconductor chips, etc.) used to make electric vehicles, solar panels, wind turbines, and batteries are found in nations that do not share India's political views.

Fourth, there is a need for infrastructural development.

The construction of a national gas pipeline grid is being funded by GAIL. India must also increase its strategic petroleum reserves to provide enough fuel for at least 30 days of usage.

Fifth, providing incentives for becoming green to promote individual participation.

Sixth, upgrading and retraining. The gradual shift to a green energy system will alter the kind of jobs available and where they are located. As a result, the needs for training and skill development should be foreseen and met.

Seventh is Energy diplomacy. Our ambassadors should make their diplomacy more active. This is a result of our reliance on global energy supply networks. Diplomacy will be crucial in navigating the economic and geopolitical uncertainty.

Similarly many such ways if followed will make india energy atmanirbhar by the end of 2040.
